We Have A Winner!

Congrats to Luke Brockman for the first catch of the season!

"I caught the coho salmon above on April 2, 2011 at Crystal Lake (Dredge Lakes system) by the bridge on a small orange and grizzly woolly bugger. I was throwing my fly at the edge of the ice (most of the lake is ice) and letting it slide off. I am guessing the fly to be about a size 10 but smaller would be better for the size fish we were catching. Bouncing it along the bottom seemed to be the best way to get them with a VERY slow retrieve. It was overcast and raining at about 3 or 4 pm. Both of the fish we caught were little fingerlings but I'm sure there are bigger fish in there. We fished about an hour, and would have stayed longer but my friend's dog fell through the ice and was shivering badly."

Luke will be receiving a Hackle fly tied by one of our members.
