Boca Grande, Florida

Mary Ann and I spent three weeks during the early part of November in Boca Grande, Florida. We have been doing this for the past several years (trying to avoid the inevitable winter season). It helps because of the fine weather and lots of quality fishing.

Flats fishing the mangroves with a long-time friend , Ron Whiteley (who is possibly the best fly fisherman I know - present company excluded) is a blast.

Then there was beach fishing at the condo, which was often excellent at sunset for Mary Ann and me. It is impossible not to enjoy this area of Florida during November. Great gulf beaches and lots of local nature-type attractions: Selby Gardens, Ringling Museum and Gardens, Corkscrew Sanctuary, Boca Grande Lighthouse beaches, and much more make this a wonderful part of SW Florida.
